Mongolia: Prevention and Control of Major Non-Communicable Diseases and Injuries

Major activities addressing a green economy: The project’s objective was to increase access to information and services about Non-Communicable Diseases and Injuries (NCDIs) and thus to increase the productive lives of Mongolians. EPOS supported this goal with the following activities: Implementation of healthy workplace promotion, e.g. promoting physical exercises, improved access to disease prevention and treatment for disabled people and people living in remote areas, promotion of healthy eating in schools and hospitals (eating more fruits/ vegetables, reducing salt), changing behaviours and attitude (IEC/BCC) towards a healthy lifestyle e.g. by using pop culture, anti-tobacco and alcohol campaigning as well as introduction of an anti-tobacco law, reduction of road traffic injuries e.g. by driver education and information.
