MetaMeta Joins GOPA Group

Amplifying Expertise in Water, Climate, and Agriculture

GOPA Group announced today that the Dutch consultancy MetaMeta will become part of GOPA AFC headquartered in Bonn, Germany. Based in Wageningen, the Netherlands, MetaMeta is a thought leader in many dimensions of water, agriculture, environment, and green infrastructure. Its service offering combines research, innovation, policy development and programme implementation. MetaMeta has a dynamic team of 40 staff with offices in several countries, including its branch offices in Ethiopia and Yemen.

With more than 20 years of international water and climate expertise MetaMeta is complementing GOPA AFC’s global experience in agriculture and financial sector development.  “MetaMeta adds a new technical domain to GOPA AFC and the Group, complementing its work in the agriculture and food sectors, and giving water and climate sector expertise a more central place within that. The incorporation of MetaMeta also aligns perfectly with the recent establishment of the GOPA Group US in Washington D.C. We connect US funders to our new ideas and support them in achieving development breakthroughs in crucial areas such as water and irrigation.”, says Johannes Buschmeier, CEO of GOPA AFC and Co-Director of MetaMeta.

The newly appointed Managing Director of MetaMeta, Marc van de Stouwe is also part of the Management in AFC. Marc has vast experience in the international development and sustainability sectors, having acted as executive manager of global consultancies and as an expert on key projects and initiatives worldwide. His appointment reinforces GOPA Group's commitment to its sustainability agenda and its goal of creating a sustainable impact in development.
