Managing Director, GOPA Worldwide GmbH

In January 2022, Patrick Krause became the Managing Director of GOPA Worldwide, which has an average annual turnover of 89 million EUR and implements on average 280 ongoing donor-funding projects (EU, GIZ, KfW, MCC, WB, SDC, etc.). Prior to this, Patrick was Director for Governance and Economic Development, responsible for a portfolio of more than 40 projects in the areas of PAR, good governance, support to NSA, private sector development, SME promotion, and trade.

Patrick holds a Master of Science in Sociology and Development Studies and a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Systems Management. He has more than 20 years of work experience in international development cooperation, having worked for the GOPA Group in various positions as project manager, consultant, and head of technical departments.

In two major EU-funded long-term assignments in the Russian Federation and Turkey, Patrick worked as TL, managing large and complex TA programs. His technical and regional experiences as well as his educational background are complemented by his hands-on experience in project management and monitoring and his understanding of high-volume TA programmes worldwide.
