Antoine Rivet

Managing Director, GOPA Com. S.A.

Antoine Rivet leads GOPA Group’s communication and insights company – GOPA Com. – raising awareness about the work of international donors for citizens and stakeholders globally.

Antoine worked for five years on donor-funded projects in the fields of governance and public sector development. His experience took him to Kosovo, Algeria, Armenia, and Congo among other countries, where he identified a fundamental shortcoming in most of his assignments: awareness and empowerment of populations.

Since he joined the Group in 2010, he has been committed to addressing the complex challenges of raising awareness and growing the knowledge of audiences to empower them. This means increasing their knowledge of their rights and obligations so they can be more active and engaged citizens. Antoine sees communication activities as a means to reach a more global virtuous objective, and to achieve sustainable behavioural change.

In 2013 he became GOPA Com.’s Managing Director, working alongside his peers within the Group to strengthen these points across activities. He has also strived since his appointment to make the company more innovative and resilient, introducing new solutions and approaches to root his ambitions into the company's DNA.

Antoine is an advocate of the values of the European project, and shares this enthusiasm with his students at the IHECS in Brussels, and when he supports Protagoras, as a think tank from the same university. He is also an advocate of teamwork, something he experienced firsthand when he played rugby and rowed for his university teams in his youth, and something he has carried along with him ever since.

Antoine holds an MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge and an MA in Development Economics from Paris 1 – Sorbonne University. A true European, his home is now Brussels, where he moved over ten years ago from Paris after a short spell in Germany, and where he became the proud father of his daughters Anouk and Zélie.
