Major activities addressing a green economy: Rapid economic development, industrialisation and urbanisation have produced numerous environmental challenges in China, such as air pollution, low water quality, limited access to safe drinking water, desertification, deforestation, soil erosion and reduction of biodiversity. The EGP is addressing these issues and supports a shift towards a green and inclusive economy by contributing to an improving environmental governance in P.R. of China through enhanced governmental function, public access to information, public participation and corporate responsibility in the environmental field. A consortium led by GOPA is providing state-of-the-art technical assistance in order support the Ministry of Environmental Planning (MEP) to fulfil these tasks.
