Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga
2010-04 to 2012-08

Major activities addressing a green economy: The effects of climate change and possible adaptation strategies have not yet been incorporated into the policy framework or the regulatory structure but are a key step in promoting climate resilience and a green and inclusive green economy in the Pacific. GOPA therefore assisted the national partners in the development of national climate change adaptation strategies for land-based natural resources covering sustainable and resource efficient management systems for agriculture, forestry, water- and land management as well as biodiversity conservation. Another focus was the design of climate change information and knowledge management systems to strengthen local capacities on projects and information addressing climate change and a greener economy.
