2009-10 to 2013-03

Major activities addressing a green economy: Energy generation and energy policy in Mexico are largely dominated by fossil fuels, in the medium term, however, stocks of these fuels are threatened with exhaustion. A consortium led by GOPA supports the Mexican Ministry of Energy (SENER) and other partners to enhance the energy framework to allow increased energy efficiency (EE) as well as a higher utilisation of renewable energies (RE) within the building sector. Specific activities include the development and implementation of an evaluation and certification system for energy use in residential buildings, support programs for energy efficiency and renewable energy in the building sector, advising, training and international knowledge transfer for national partners, Creating training and education provision, e.g. for energy consultants, technicians and employees of the local governments.
